If "sheerness" is scored from #1 being absolutely see through and #5 being not so sheer at all, perhaps a shadow, depending on the lighting situation, I'm giving them a solid 4. I purchased them to swap with the lace curtains above my kitchen sink (#1; see above) though I did leave the lace valance, and it's rather a cute combo, and one that I shall keep.
